Small Apartment Organization When You Cannot Drill Holes

Updated 2026-08-08

Most small-space storage advice assumes you can put things on walls. If you rent, you frequently cannot, or you can but would rather not argue about it when you leave.

Everything here is reversible. No drilling, no permanent fixings, nothing that costs you a deposit.

Before buying anything, most flats have three unused volumes:

Rules for small spaces

In a small flat, every object has to earn its floor area. The question is not "do I have room for this?" but "is this the best possible use of the room it takes?"
